It's time to shift into neutral for spring. Ever wondered how much you can do with one tan piece of clothing and how to style a neutral look? A LOT. Neutrals are in and they’re all you need when it comes to building your wardrobe. These pieces are staples and set a solid foundation for countless looks. Well, what exactly falls under the neutral category? Neutral clothing is anything in tan, black, white and light earth tones. At Vintage Charm, we have expanded the category to include dark earth tones and light/ dark wash denim as well. Neutral looks are in-trend year-round. Yes... even white after Labor Day. Neutral colors are all seasonal colors. In our opinion, one of the biggest benefits of building out your neutral wardrobe is that getting dressed is so much easier! Neutrals don’t compete or contrast with one another, so they go great together. That is why we always suggest packing a lot of neutral pieces when traveling. But in true Vintage Charm fashion, don’t forget to pack a few fun statement pieces as well 😊 Neutral doesn’t have to mean boring. There are plenty of ways to jazz up a fair-toned fit.
Add pops of color. If you shop at Vintage Charm, then you know that adding color is our favorite way to add interest to any look. Build your neutral look with staple pieces, but then add the needed color with a pair of earrings, headband, belt or purse.
Add texture. Texture can create an instant “wow” factor to any look. Mix your lace pieces with cotton, knit or denim. Mixing textures can scare people sometimes, but it can easily be achieved with layers and breaking the layers with a simple piece like a belt or necklace. One of our favorite ways to add texture is to throw on a denim jacket.
